Anderson Silva versus Chael Sonnen Prediction:
Sonnen did pretty well during his first encounter against Silva, but I don't think he'll be able to replicate his performance at UFC 148. Sonnen's elevated testosterone levels had a lot to do with the intense pace he kept at UFC 117, and the element of surprise also worked in his favor. This time around, "The Spider" knows how good Sonnen's takedowns are, and I expect him to do a much better job avoiding them. Silva should be able to dominate the fight from start to finish, while dishing out a serious beating. Silva wins via TKO.
Forrest Griffin versus Tito Ortiz Prediction:
Griffin didn't do too well in his last fight against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, but he should be able to rebound against Ortiz. When focused, Griffin is still a serious threat for most light-heavyweights in the UFC, and I don't think Ortiz has enough left in his tank to deal with him. Griffin wins by TKO
Cung Le versus Patrick Côté Prediction:
Le will try to secure his first win in the UFC when he faces Côté on Saturday. Le has the advantage in the striking department, and he should be able to stuff any attempt by Côté to take the fight to the canvas. I expect a very entertaining showdown between the two, with Le emerging victorious. Le wins via decision.
Dong Hyun Kim versus Demian Maia Prediction:
Maia will make his welterweight debut when he faces Kim at UFC 148. Maia's performance in his last fight against Chris Weidman certainly wasn't impressive, and he'll have his hands full against the Korean. Kim - who is a better striker - has already dealt with solid BJJ guys like Nate Diaz in the past, and he should be able to handle Maia's submissions. Kim wins via decision.
